Chicken Keeping March 21st from 11-3
Join us on the farm for an enriching experience to learn all about chicken keeping! Our knowledge comes from generations of experience, passed down from our grandparents who have lovingly tended to chickens for many years. Chickens are an excellent and manageable way to start a homestead. They offer numerous benefits: they are enjoyable to care for, have minimal start-up costs, and require significantly less space than larger livestock animals. When we raise our chickens, we follow organic practices, as we are proud to be certified USDA organic producers. Our approach emphasizes sustainability and regenerative farming methods that benefit both the land and the animals. We balance enjoying chickens as beloved pets with reasonable financial goals, believing that poultry should serve to support a family and their homestead in practical ways. During the class, we will cover everything you need to know including feeding, watering, coop design and maintenance, animal health, processing, egg collection, and much more! To ensure a personal and interactive experience, our class size is kept small to encourage plenty of questions and discussion. This class is set for March 21st from 11 am to 3 pm. Looking for activities for your children while you learn about chickens?
Our friendly neighbor Missy runs a horse farm right next door and offers fun kids’ activities — feel free to contact her at Majestic Acres 843-824-4818 for more details.
Please be aware that tickets for this class are non-refundable since we need to order materials in advance to guarantee every participant has everything they require. We may also offer group discounts or custom group classes upon request — don’t hesitate to email us with any questions or special requests. We truly look forward to welcoming you and sharing this rewarding and delicious experience together!
