6th Annual Honey Hooplah! and LowCountry Homesteading Festival
November 2, 2024 is the next Honey Hooplah! Stay tuned for new updates and plans!
Tour the honey house
This is the one time of the year we open up our honey house for tours on how we process honey. Bring your own clean, sanitized container (up to 5 pounds) and fill your own bottle with honey for a discount. It easy and we will help guide you through the process. If you don’t have a jar with you, we will have options for you to purchase.
Learn Homesteading
Join us in the big tent for a variety of mini homestead demonstrations and discussions. Beekeeping, home canning, master food preserves, herbs, glass, and more will be covered. Times will vary through the day. Lots to learn and enjoy!

Vaughan Spearman is a Wildlife Biologist, and Forester by professional training, and has pursued wild edibles as a hobby for most of his life. After traveling & tasting the berries and fish in other parts of the world, he returned home and took up educating others about wild foods, while also working for the SC Forestry Commission as the Coastal Region Stewardship Forester. He's offered wild edible walks in a variety of coastal SC habitats, in the Charleston area, for the last decade, and now raises one of the rarest sheep in the world, on his family's farm.
The walk will last about one hour, involve moderate walking, & includes whatever wild edible plants we can find, native to SC or commonly found in this area. Tours will depart the center of the festival (Welcome Tent) at 1130 and 130. Pre-registration strongly encouraged. Class is $5 per person, kids under 12 free. Class size is limited.
